    How We Can Help You

We are your trusted advisers for all Australian migration related matters, whether it is securing the best talent from overseas, establishing a new business in Australia, overcoming complex monitoring issues, working in an occupation in demand, or reuniting with a family member. We understand these issues can impact your professional or personal relationships, and with constant and confusing regulatory changes, we want to work with you in delivering strategic advice which suits you and we aim to guide you through the process to ensure it is as straightforward as it can be.

    Overseas Businesses

If you currently operate a business overseas and need to send your finest to Australia to fulfil a contractual obligation with your Australian client, or wish to set up a branch office in Australia, you may be able to achieve these by utilising the current Standard Business Sponsorship programme. We can assist you with appropriate advice based on our significant experience in this area.

    Securing Overseas Talent

Whether it is to fill a niche skill gap within your business to address an immediate need, such as a short-term project, ongoing demand following an organisational restructure, or sourcing a talented sports person from overseas for a short-term contract or to compete in a tournament, we can help you find the best pathway.

We have worked with businesses of all shapes and sizes, from small startups to multinational corporations, across a variety of industries, on business migration and mobility requirements for the movement of their personnel. On the other hand, our clients also range from local, regional and professional sporting clubs to event organisers wanting to attract sporting talent from around the world in order to improve the quality of sport in Australia through their participation in high level competition.

Some visa options we commonly deal with are:

        • Temporary Skill Shortage Visa allowing visa holders to work in Australia for 2-4 years in a nominated occupation through Standard Business Sponsorship. If the role you propose to sponsor does not fit within the scope of a Standard Business Sponsorship, you may be looking at one of the Labour Agreements such as Industry, Company Specific, or Global Talent Scheme Agreements
        • Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) Visa for a short-term stay in Australia around 3-6 months to undertake highly specialised, non-ongoing work
        • Temporary Activity Visa may be suitable for a range of temporary stay purposes for up to 2 years in most circumstances such as conducting religious work, undertaking sporting activities, or exchange arrangements

    Retaining Valuable Foreign Workers

We believe your employees are your most valuable assets and finding the right person is often difficult enough. Once you have secured the talent, we want to help you keep them working for your business. You may support your employees by nominating them for permanent residence under the Employer Nomination Scheme or Regional Sponsored Nomination Scheme.

    Upskilling

If you have the drive to upskill in a particular field or trade, you may undertake further study under the current Student Visa programme, which upon completion may offer you a pathway to live and work in Australia as a graduate for a period of up to 4 years.

From a business perspective, you may also take advantage of a Training Visa if you have a foreign candidate for a junior position within your organisation who does not have the skills required to be sponsored under a Standard Business Sponsorship. You may offer a structured training programme to help the candidate upskill in the proposed occupation and in turn this candidate may become a valuable asset for your business in the long-term.

    Recognising Your Skill

Australia recognises your skills and if you are a highly qualified and experienced professional in an occupation in demand, by expressing your interest in residing and working in Australia, you may be invited to apply for permanent residence under the General Skilled Migration programme.

Being a New Zealand citizen living in Australia, you already have unlimited work rights, however, you are not on the path to Australian citizenship. You may be eligible for permanent residency if you are settled in Australia and have actively contributed to the Australian economy in the last 5 years.

Finally, if you have impeccable business acumen and want to manage your own business in Australia, with a great idea for innovation, or want to conduct investment activities, the Business Innovation and Investment Visa might offer you a pathway to permanent residency for you and your family, potentially without you even having to reside in Australia.

    Reuniting with Family Members

If you are a fiancé, spouse, de facto partner (including those in a same-sex relationship) of an Australian citizen or settled permanent resident, you may be eligible for a Partner Visa to join your family member in Australia. Likewise, there are also Child or Parent Visa options for people who want to be reunited with an eligible family member.

    Citizenship – the End Goal

You have now gone through the life cycle of Australia visas and reached the end goal. The Australian government is currently proposing changes to your eligibility in becoming an Australian citizen by making it much longer for you to achieve your dreams; do not delay if you are eligible now.

    Advisory

It is crucial that you are aware of and comply with your sponsorship obligations, and understand the work limitations of all persons engaged through your business, including contractors and temporary business travellers from your offshore posts. The obligations towards a sponsored foreign worker are often complex and you may be at risk if you decide to promote this employee, move the role interstate, or have recently undergone a business restructure. We can help you manage and minimize the risk by implementing a corporate governance model for your obligations as a sponsor and as an organisation who engages foreign workers, before it becomes an issue. We can undertake audits and provide you training and seminars on migration policy and regulatory changes.
